[So actually he's not without some knowledge of Christmas. It's not much of a shinobi holiday, but chances are there is SOME form of it in his world. It probably doesn't involve pine trees getting decorated but hey, there are a lot of countries and many cultures in the Shinobi World. It might somewhere.
Anyway, he's looking....

Should I expect to be traveling somewhere by the time this holiday arrives? A place other than Blackthorne. [Might as well check what the other shinobi are doing, right?] Or should I consider this holiday irrelevant? [Guess which one he prefers.
Also, what is private again? It's too much trouble to ensure the shinobi all get it. For all he knows there's more that he's missed due to lack of interest. While it's unlikely to be someone he cared very much about, he'd rather not it be assumed that he's directly cutting anyone out of his communication. He'd rather intentionally offend someone than do it accidentally.]
