003 - Video / Potential action for Violet
[...It's his birthday today. He's only noticed because of a calendar he passed, given that it was nowhere near his birthday at home. The point seems moot, given it's so far in the future that his age is far beyond eighteen anyway, but still...to see that date again so suddenly and so soon after death.
He isn't dead, of course, but it serves as a reminder of the life he's lost all the same. If the jutsu were reversed and people returned to their times, whatever animates or restored him might also undo itself. It's a possibility he must at least privately face.
He holds the pokedex today because Meditite handed it to him, but his expression is distant and deeply thoughtful. The look of a man wondering whether or not birthdays are to be observed here or only reminders of a life lost.]
...How many years are there in a pokemon's life cycle? They're born so quickly and often I imagine that must mean they have short lifespans.
[There's no point in mentioning his birthday, and it would be inappropriate to speak of his death publicly where Naruto might hear of it. Still, his thoughts remain on the day.]
Are we expected to mark down the day of birth for pokemon hatched in front of us and celebrate them in some fashion in coming years?

*She's really confident about this, whatever it is.*
Why? What's wrong with a little fun? Parties and cake and being glad your friend is here for you, and has been helping you for a whole year!?

[He frowns at the woman in confusion about this: is there something he's missing so far that she knows? Even the concept of immortality is difficult to believe. Surely something that causes sufficient and thorough enough damage could not be returned from. Incineration, perhaps, would prevent any sort of healing jutsu, even a life-transfer one.]
Should I continue to gather them at the rate I have so far, if I were to celebrate each day another arrived, I'd very shortly run out of days.

*Explaining the subtle nuances of how video game logic worked seemed to be a waste of time, and she hardly wasted time unless it was really really fun.*
I don't know how you'd run out of days, there will be another one tomorrow. And the day after that. And the day after that. And the day after that. And the day after that. And the day after that. So there's always more time to come up with things to do. Although some of your Pokemon might have to share parties and activities.

There are only so many days in a year. Eventually I would have them all occupied with birthdays.
Video
And would it be so bad to celebrate every day!?
Video
There would be no purpose to a celebration held every day.
