[The camera flicks on to reveal a young man with eyes so pale lavender and missing pupils that it might appear as if his eyes are white and unmarked at first glance. There's a small frown on his lips, and his eyes squint in a curious determination.
Through observation and intuition, he's puzzled out the purpose and general function of the device well enough to activate it, but unfortunately it has...so far...not provided illumination over where he's woken or how. Waking up after death is no surprise--it's happened more than once before, though the last time it happened to him he hadn't been as certain of his own death when he lost consciousness as this time.
Waking here, however...is less...understandable.]
Explain to me where this place is and why I've been taken. Have I missed the end of the war? [That seems the most reasonable conclusion: otherwise he would have been brought back out to the battlefield, wouldn't he?]

[-san, the address and his tone polite. He didn't recognize Neji completely, but Minato was pretty confident in his guess.
He was fairly recognizable himself, sort of- no forehead protector to be seen but Minato still wore his flame tipped cloak over his clothing here.]
I'm not sure that anyone could fully explain the why, though, but this is neither an illusion or the afterlife.
[Better to just... put that one out there, considering how many times it had been asked (and thought).]
It's a face that doesn't help the idea that this might be an after life of sort beyond that which he believed prior to death. The belief that this might be the future or a situation with Rinne Tensei of some sort is more difficult with a long-dead hokage present.
Even with the Hyuga's subtle facial expressions, his shock should be visible as he stares at the blonde man.]
...A separate world from the one we lived in before. How exactly is that possible?
no subject
[Not to mention that ninjutsu wasn't exactly something anyone here was capable of, but it was the best comparison he could make really.
Did the ninjas even have knowledge of different planets? \o_o/]
There are people here from many different worlds, the natives aren't very forthcoming as to how or why we were all brought here. Unfortunately I can't offer much of a briefing.
Though if it is an illusion... well. We don't exactly have a way to disrupt it, currently.
[Of all people he's fairly sure a Hyuuga would immediately notice the suppression of their chakra.]
no subject
It may not be beyond the limits of the Juubi...but I don't see how such a jutsu would benefit its master's goals.
[They were after genjutsu, after all.
...And no. They
believe theyhave a moon created by a ninja. Planets are out of the question.]What do you believe may be the case, Hokage Namikaze-sama?
no subject
[It bothered him to admit as such, but even the great Yondaime didn't have all the answers.
They could theorize until the
cowsmiltanks came home, but there were no real definite answers- each group from another world could offer explanations that might be true for them, but wouldn't account for the various other people here.]Assuming it was something from our world that triggered the phenomenon bringing us here, how would you account for the people from other worlds? What purpose does trapping us here serve? Perhaps we're meant to be kept powerless and complacent, given menial tasks to occupy our time and attention.
Or perhaps it really did originate here and our home was simply caught up with the many picked through for residents.
[Or maybe various catalysts across the different worlds- the Jyuubi, in their case- fueled the ability to access them, were being used to make the kidnappings possible.]
It's difficult to tell.
no subject
Perhaps the 'worlds' these people come from are our own? We have no way of knowing how far beyond our own time we've come, but time-displacement is obvious even amongst those we do know. It's possible that this world is our own, from a time so far in our world's future that Konoha and the five lands are as lost to history as the world before the Sage of Six Paths. All the other worlds might be from a time between these two points, or perhaps even a time beyond this. [Although, frankly, something reaching into the future sounds like a far too powerful jutsu. Then again, all the chakra absorbed from the people taken here must go somewhere--and constantly so. Perhaps...]
The question becomes then, what here would bring so many so far across time...? [And evidently return them to life in the process.]
no subject
[Transported across worlds, across time. Even back home there wasn't much proof about what exactly the Juubi was capable of, information lost over time. Perhaps never shared at all.]
Nothing here is visibly abnormal, in the context of elaborate seals or even a device that has no explanation. [No kidnapping machines to be found, sadly.] But that doesn't necessarily mean there isn't something we're not allowed access to.
Some have been here years, but if it's a matter of disregarding the flow of time it's hard to say too that that means anything. Most just accept that we've been brought to another world and keep themselves occupied until a hopeful return.
...Seems a little too simple to me, but maybe there's merit in that line of thought as well.
[But that still didn't explain why they were here.]
no subject
He frowns. In a world such as this, it would be better if he had the Byakugan to search for signs of seals...but either due to the lack of chakra, or because of his death and the sealing jutsu (he suspects the latter, of course), it is as unresponsive as his chakra.
He shakes his head dismissively of that particular theory.]
The power it takes to perform such a complex and ongoing jutsu, as well as whatever is draining our chakra before we can use it would be too much to expend without an express purpose. Surely there's a better reason than to collect animals.

[He'd had similar thoughts though, that there had to be some other goal for them to reach outside of the ones handed to them: traveling, winning badges, expanding their Pokemon teams. It was all a little too good to be true in a sense, taken from home to leisurely explore without much of a threat to be found.
What was the point in bringing them to a world solely to relax?]
If there is a higher goal or purpose, I'm afraid any knowledge of it isn't public. We're not in immediate danger at least- there's time and quiet to inquire and research as we'd like.
no subject
I see, then. Are there any of us working on this research together at the moment? [Group research would likely do better than independent, after all.]
no subject
It was hard not to follow that example, sometimes, he had to admit. The only real danger here came from the other arrivals- they were a complete wild card and there was no way to tell if what one learned about them was actually truth. But even then he'd hardly met anyone yet that he would call dangerous.
The Pokemon, maybe.]
Not particularly, though we stay in contact if we're not traveling as a group.
[Everyone seemed in a similar boat, sharing "common" knowledge, theories.]
But I think you'll find almost every person here wants to find out more, a way back home. If you're curious all you really have to do is ask and most seem willing to share what they know.
no subject
Well, Neji couldn't, at least. Such a carefree and easy path had to lead to destruction of some sort, he just wasn't certain what it was yet.]
Is that so? [Because so far it seemed more like he'd found only people uninterested in investigating, questioning, or returning home. Perhaps his perception is biased by the difficult introduction he had to this world, however.] Should I assume someone has gathered together all of the information discovered on this land into one place by now?
no subject
[Surely there would be a variance in how each person handled the situation, but the majority were rather friendly and open. Mostly.]
Most of the combined information deals with the various types of Pokemon and building a balanced team, but it touches on the current situation as well. At least, what we're supposed to believe.
It's a bit of a long read, but helpful nonetheless.

...He still doesn't know what to do with the messages about files that appear on the display, but then, when he leaves New Bark it will likely provide him with plenty of time to figure out how it works and read them.
For the moment he simply settles on nodding.]
Should I take that to mean you doubt the situational information in these?
no subject
But... as we've discussed, even with multiple sources validating the claim it's a bit fantastical.
[More so than anything else he could/had come up with though? That was the question really.]
no subject
no subject
[There's a bit of light teasing to his tone but he's definitely not being patronizing- if anything Minato would be happy to hear any new information from anyone.]
Until then I should probably let you get settled some, any further briefings can certainly wait. [We're not going anywhere.] The group I'm traveling with will be out your way within the week, and you're more than welcome to meet up with us if you'd like.
no subject
[He would love to theorize wildly with you, Fourth Hokage, but as things stand now he lacks the basic knowledge to make any serious attempts.]
In Violet, correct? I'll need to speak with Tenten when I arrive in Cherrygrove.
no subject
Mmn. We're in Azalea currently, but it's only a few days from Violet by flight.
[Be prepared to never get away from Violet, this will be their second stay in like a month 8|]
Tenten has a rather diverse team with several capable of flying, the two of you shouldn't have any trouble traveling once she reaches you.
no subject
I've been told to travel to Violet by other shinobi here, so perhaps it would be best to meet there.
[Just what is so special about Violet that keeps people there? Acceptable music, perhaps?]
I imagine we shouldn't. It should be a few days before then, however, so the timing should match.
no subject
[Helping the new arrivals settle in, challenging the gym, etc.]
Until then, travel safely.
[More pleasantry than any sort of warning, given his offered smile and subtle nod. Unless Neji had any further questions Minato would end his side of the conversation there.]
