[Today when Neji appears he...looks pretty much the same way he always does, impassive or perhaps vaguely peeved, shiny metal forehead protector engraved with the 'shinobi' kanji, and featureless pale-violet eyes peering down at the camera with vague curiosity.

Those who are expert readers of the apathetic, however, should recognize the pensiveness and vaguely ill-at-ease tenseness in the corners of his eyes and expression, the last remnants of the strange and disturbing nightmare he experienced a few days ago.

Behind where he sits a Medicham stands, watching the feed with a similar--perhaps put on--vague sense of curiosity. Those familiar with Neji's pokemon roster can probably guess that this is Meditite, now evolved and doubled in her previous height.]

Should I anticipate all of the pokemon to do this sooner or later? [Evolve, that is. This makes half of his pre-Shino roster, after all. The other half seems inevitable at this point.] For a long lived species, it seems a bit abrupt to be a sign of adulthood, so I presume there's a better explanation for this?

[He could probably consult his pokedex to find the answer to that question himself, but he doesn't want to bother. And perhaps...he feels a bit restless after the dream. Restless enough to prefer social interact to isolation for the moment.]

Two of the others have. [The bugs he picked up. Did you not notice that between the dozens and dozens of pokemon you and Tenten have?] Considering that, it stands to reason the remaining three will, too.

I'm not surprised. I want to know if they'll all do this, and if I should expect it to happen more than once. [Is she going to double her height again, Obito? Do you know how tall that would be? Do you know how tiring it's going to be to have her chattering in your head forever now?]

Not every type does it, but some of mine have changed twice so that's definitely an option too.

I'm pretty sure that means it evolves. Now, I think only two of my pokémon have evolved, to be honest, so it's not like this is a big, significant, deal. [ She nods her head. ] In fact, I think many don't evolve at all! But Obito definitely told me some could.... [ now she's getting lost again ): ]

[Oh, the Hokage. He never did get the opportunity to inform her of his death, but...there is the question now of whether the information will help in deciphering how people arrived here and what this place is.]

More than some. Half of the ones with me already have. [Evolving though, he hadn't heard it called that yet. He hadn't actually discussed it or asked, though, so that would be why.] But if it isn't every one of them...then it clearly isn't a version of aging.

[ Tsunade blinks twice, wondering if there was something more to this situation. Still, she goes onward in the discussion. ]

I have been researching evolution, as, despite most of my pokémon fulfilling the requirements for evolution, none have. [ She wants to become a pokémon professor! ] I know it is not aging. It's like when Naruto gets another form or something.

[His lips twitch briefly in a faint, passing smile. He wasn't aware that there was any sort of timing or structure to whenever Naruto became more powerful. Perhaps he should have been paying closer attention?]

...So a random process that cannot be reliably predicted or understood, I suppose.
