[The camera flicks on to reveal a young man with eyes so pale lavender and missing pupils that it might appear as if his eyes are white and unmarked at first glance. There's a small frown on his lips, and his eyes squint in a curious determination.

Through observation and intuition, he's puzzled out the purpose and general function of the device well enough to activate it, but unfortunately it has...so far...not provided illumination over where he's woken or how. Waking up after death is no surprise--it's happened more than once before, though the last time it happened to him he hadn't been as certain of his own death when he lost consciousness as this time.

Waking here, however...is less...understandable.]

Explain to me where this place is and why I've been taken. Have I missed the end of the war? [That seems the most reasonable conclusion: otherwise he would have been brought back out to the battlefield, wouldn't he?]

Neji gives a tiny gesture that might be a shrug.] I understand I'm in New Bark Town. I've not heard from anyone that they are. [Because Tenten got angry and hung up on him.]

[ It's...nice to hear. Even if it's strange to think of. Surely if they're allies, there might be...less. Less death, less fighting - not none, because of the nature of being a ninja, but it's...nice. All the same.

She nods, after a moment. ] So we're fairly far apart.

[ There's a brief debate, but she might as well try to give him more of a benchmark for whom she is, if she's telling him at all. ]

Her memory of myself ends with the Chuunin tournament. [So. Naruto. You can imagine what sort of image she has of him, right? ~~You remember that far back with things that don't involve Sasuke, right?~~] And where is Violet? Who are 'we'?

[Indeed, there is less. Or there was, until the Akatsuki and the new war...but then, so long as there is war and suffering there will always be those like the Akatsuki who rise up and cause more war. Without someone to break that cycle, it will only cycle on through eternity.]

I believe so. [Perhaps not as far as she may wish to believe, however. There are only seventeen years between the Third and Fourth wars, after all. Depending on when she hails from in the war, they may only be separated by half a generation.

The comment on her sensei earns a surprised expression and pause. Minato Namikaze the Fourth Hokage? Surely, if his title was also The Yellow Flash. Given the timing, it's preposterous to assume it could be anyone else.

At the time she knew me, I was. [He has no problem with bluntness. He expects nothing less from Naruto.

He probably shouldn't have expected more than Naruto assuming map-awareness of him, though.]

Where is Violet City, Naruto? [He notes the mention of parents, but without any frame of reference to those the knowledge means little other than as a vague appreciation for Naruto's emotional welfare. After all, considering his own presence, death seems no barrier to his place.]

It's uh-- well you've got a map somewhere in your bag, take it out. Cherrygrove's west of you, then you've gotta go north.

What travel time is there between New Bark and Violet? [It's not that he particularly wants or doesn't want to go where Naruto and Sakura are, it's that he has no better goal yet, and should danger arise being together is wiser than being scattered without chakra.]

It's about ten days or so, on foot. Less than a day if you fly, though.

You're all mere and mortal, but that isn't the case with the local wildlife.

*Imogen uses her usual partner for this, Wildfyre. The rapidash makes a rather impressive pillar of flame before Imogen pulls the camera back to her.*

I'd show off some of my fighting types and their super cool kung fu actions but I don't have them with me! Maybe someone else can explain why you don't write off Pokemon so quick!

Oi, trainers with the badges can let you ride on one of theirs if they're with you y'know.

You can also challenge the gym leaders with your team.

[He'd had similar thoughts though, that there had to be some other goal for them to reach outside of the ones handed to them: traveling, winning badges, expanding their Pokemon teams. It was all a little too good to be true in a sense, taken from home to leisurely explore without much of a threat to be found.

What was the point in bringing them to a world solely to relax?]

If there is a higher goal or purpose, I'm afraid any knowledge of it isn't public. We're not in immediate danger at least- there's time and quiet to inquire and research as we'd like.

[Don't say such things and he won't.]

Is there such a trainer nearby?

[He nods, thoughtful. While he can't see what purpose challenging 'leaders' would provide that would cause the effort expended to bring them here for it. Still, if the Fourth Hokage believes this place safe enough to research at a reasonable speed, rather than imminently dangerous, Neji is willing to defer to his judgment on the matter.]

I see, then. Are there any of us working on this research together at the moment? [Group research would likely do better than independent, after all.]

[Talk to some people Neji! The ninja were the odd ones out mostly, paranoid and curious about every detail that could be found here. Most just... went about their business, relatively calm and content.

It was hard not to follow that example, sometimes, he had to admit. The only real danger here came from the other arrivals- they were a complete wild card and there was no way to tell if what one learned about them was actually truth. But even then he'd hardly met anyone yet that he would call dangerous.

The Pokemon, maybe.]

Not particularly, though we stay in contact if we're not traveling as a group.

[Everyone seemed in a similar boat, sharing "common" knowledge, theories.]

But I think you'll find almost every person here wants to find out more, a way back home. If you're curious all you really have to do is ask and most seem willing to share what they know.

[He was referring to his Meditite, actually. Which is a rather pathetic creature when it comes to sparring potential. He's yet to encounter the wild pokemon.

I'll bear in mind that the wildlife I encounter is capable of elemental jutsu. Is that the point you were trying to make?

[Weren't the ninja ever the odd ones out? Shinobi led a distinctly different, almost unrecognizable life to the civilians. Why it should be any different here Neji isn't really sure, other than that their chakra was stolen and summoning animals were given to everyone. Even with a leveled playing field, the two schools of thought wouldn't mesh so easily. Case in point: shinobi couldn't so easily accept a life like this without question or suspicion.

Well, Neji couldn't, at least. Such a carefree and easy path had to lead to destruction of some sort, he just wasn't certain what it was yet.]

Is that so? [Because so far it seemed more like he'd found only people uninterested in investigating, questioning, or returning home. Perhaps his perception is biased by the difficult introduction he had to this world, however.] Should I assume someone has gathered together all of the information discovered on this land into one place by now?

That's been my experience, anyway.

Most of the combined information deals with the various types of Pokemon and building a balanced team, but it touches on the current situation as well. At least, what we're supposed to believe.

I'm to meet with Tenten in Cherrygrove in nine days. Perhaps it should be then? [He doesn't particularly wish for company--even of the appropriate age--before then anyway.]

[He will continue to assume it will be until proven otherwise. He frowns at her response, although at least it seems she says it out of ignorance rather than a failed attempt at wittiness. He is not a fan of such quips.]

Is there a map of these places to be studied? [After all, if she comes from the chaos before shinobi, he could hardly expect her to recognize any landmarks and names he also would.]
